I dont think you can buy just any old sized bolt to fit, its a really large hefty bolt without that much thread...

You can see in this picture that they are not bolts that you could just buy from the hardware store.

what do these actually do?

Not the whiteline explaination, I want to know what the feel is like with them. Can I leave them on for daily driving?

I have not looked at how the bolts seat in the diff carrier.
but why wouldn't a piece of pipe or some other sort of spacer on a regular bolt.

They make it so that the bushings on the rear differential are useless, IE that the diff and suspension and stuff is all connected as one solid piece.
