opinions:: what shocks with eibach springs??

Just got a 02 wagon and the previous guy installed eibach springs on the stock struts.. i know that this can be detrimental to car and want to install the proper struts for an aggressive yet smoothy ride.. I used to have a 1.8t jetta on h&r coils and loved the ride.. but dont have the funds right now to dish out for the H&rs what do you guys have/ suggest....

The Eibachs aren't hard on the struts like other springs. I haven't heard much about the H&R coilovers, but their WRX springs are too low to work with the stock struts.

BAN, I'm sure you can answer this -- are the Eibach and Prodrive springs the same? Most catalog listings for the Prodrive springs say "Manufactured by Eibach to Prodrive Specifications" -- yet they are $50-$100 more. Are they different, or are you just paying for the Prodrive name?

They have different spring rates. The Prodrives have less drop and a bit more stiffness.

It is possible to use the GC8 AGX's on the front of the bugeye wagon and the rears are the same P/N as the WRX sedan....
Just an option.

How much does Prodrives actually lower the car? I've seen where it says 1.5 inch drop and on the prodrive website, they said it lowers about 3/4 inch. Which one is correct?

WRX Prodrive springs have about a 3/4" drop.

The Eibach Prokit ______ wear out the stock struts faster then the Prodrive springs.
A) Will
B) Will Not
C) Will void something in your warranty (tranny lol) and most certainly
B, mostly. The Eibachs and Prodrives are very similar. The Prodrives are slightly stiffer but have less drop, which makes them both better and worse on stock struts. The AGX like stiff springs. Also, lowering your car *can* be used to void a few parts (struts particularly) but the whole transmission can't be tied to it unless they think you are racing (autocross counts as racing under the law, btw).

Eibachs seem to give you at least 40k miles or so. They aren't real hard on struts, just a little harder than what otherwise would be. If you watch close though, you can find coilovers around for $1k or less used. There are even a few like Tein Basics that go for less then that new.
