Post My Helix DNA Coilover Review/Questions

Hello all,

Just finally recieved my set of Helix DNA Coilovers for my 04 WRX and thought I would share my first day experience here. First things off, the quality looks fantastic. The threads for adjusting the height looks awesome. I can't really compare to any other set of coilovers because this is my first set, so from my first impression was high quality work.

The Installtion was quite easy compared to some other installs that I have done (ie. Uppipe). Fitment was perfect, no problems with anything really. Everything fit like it should as if it were a stock suspension, except for the shorter arms in the rear. Overall, the install was rather over-estimated. Easy install. A +

Now for my questions,

Now I have been riding on stock struts for about 2 years now with some ground controls installed. The ride wasn't agressive at all, I just wanted the lowered stance. So now that I have installed the Helix Coilovers I have noticed a vast difference in stiffness! I'm really thinking my settings still need a lot of tampering, so I can't give a hard review that this set is too stiff for daily driving.

For those of you that have coilovers on your WRX/STi's, is it normal for coilovers to be this stiff? As to feel every little detail of the road to the last bit of grind and dust? I am hoping that I can soften up the ride a bit for my everyday comfort and needs. Again this is my first set of coilovers for any car and I'm still trying to learn how to adjust these, so I'm labeled the Coilover newbie until I can get the settings to just how I need.

Big thanks for Gruppe-S to getting these to me and thanks for reading my quick review. I might have to take these out to Gruppe-S for some quality adjustments, but if anyone will be willing to help me with some pointers it will be much appreciated.
