Car Info: sold 2012 wrx sedan (sold 02 WRX wagon)
I just had the comfort antilift kit installed on my WRX wagon. Makes a huge difference in how the car handels. Turn in is sharper and the car holds it's line much better under power in a turn. The ALK name is misleading, the car will lift more under acceleration and dive more under braking.
As far as the install goes, I had a shop do it. It requires a lot of leverage and is much easier to deal with with the car on a lift. Better access to the control arm etc.

I did the install myself but unless you have air tools and lots of patience I would get a shop to do it (at least IMO if I had to do it all over again).

I installed the ALK myself by using a large breaker bar and my floor jack handle as an extension. Not bad once you break the bolts loose. Give yourself plenty of time for install and have all tools needed. Have another person handy as well. They'll be very useful. You'll need a 22 and 23mm open end wrench(longer the better), assorted sockets to remove subframe(easy),rhino ramps, and a floor jack helps alot.
Oh yeah, the car handles much better. I definately felt much less lift. My friend used this also on his stock rex and didn't notice much anti-lift. I have 242whp and it makes a difference. The more hp you have the mor you notice anti-lift. But either way, steering is much sharper and corner entry and exit speed is increased. A good mod for the money. Check your SCCA rules for autox catagory placement(modified)

I have my own version of an "Anti-Lift Kit", also known simply as a castor adjustment on my Legacy. I just picked up 12 1/8th inch washers at Home Depot and slid them in over the bolts in the stock suspension. The only thing different about doing this is you do not get the higher durometer bushing that comes with the W-ALK. Turn-in was greatly improved, and I personally got quite a reduction of lift in turns (really helped keep the nose from flying out when you floor it at the apex of a turn).
Ok, I lied. My spacers are actually made with bar-stock (but washers will work fine):
So, you be the judge: ~$2 worth of washers at HD vs $$$$$ for the W-ALK.

Just put my ALK on yesterday. Not too hard a job. Took about three hours start to finish, including clean-up. I definately suggest a couple of different length cheater bars. I used a piece of rectangular tube to slide over the 22mm wrench for the large nut at the back of the wishbone. The best tool of all was using a WonderBar nail puller to move the wishbone enough to slide off the old bushing/bracket and replace with the new one. This made that part of the job super easy. Have not driven enough to notice the changes, but based on numerous posts this sure sounds like a good mod.
