HELP: 05 STi, Taking out My Tein Flexs, back to stock, having issues.

Hi i-club,

I am going back to the stock suspension. The Flex's are awesome, but it's time to swap em out.

I have already taken my tein flex out (RH, front), and now my brake assembly is way too high, and it seems as if the control arm(?) is not allowing the brake assembly to move in the proper position so I can line up the bolts on the strut.

Is there something I can loosen down there to get the brake assembly to budge downward, so I can bolt up the strut?

My buddy said he had the same issue, and he used brute force. I don't think that's the best course of action.

My picture below should help, the strut is bolted at the top. (sry about the quality, it's a crappy pic, was at night).

Did I possibly shift a bushing down there by driving around on the Flex's for a little over a year? I was slammed on the Flex's.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch,
GMB

Sorry I didn't mention that I've tried that method. To no avail.

Put another jack under the rotor and jack the rotor so it could align.
Make sure you put a piece of wood between the jack and the rotor.

I need the rotor / whole brake assembly to shift down. I had to jack the rotor up when first putting the Flex's on, now I need to reverse that.

doubt that there is anything strong enough to support it but you could get one of the cheapie jacks and reverse it from the top of the rotor to the bottom of something above it....like I said, doubt there is anything strong enough to support it on top.

You may want to look at taking it apart and starting over?

I'm planning to do a suspension and rotor swap next weekend....hope this doesn't happen to me

A suggestion came in from another board, to remove my swaybar endlinks, get the strut in position, bolt up, and then torque the swaybar endlink when my car is grounded. This should allow the whole brake assembly to be moved, right?
