Has anyone tried out Cobalt Friction spec(VR) brakes yet?
Just out of curiosity, has anyone given the spec(VR) a shot yet?
By the time i run track days last year they weren't available and i've sold the car since, but they sure seem to be the best choice for a lot of Honda drivers myself included. i know Cobalt stocks them for MY02 and is about to have them for 03 and 04s.
This is what is listed on cobalt's site .
"Cobalt spec(VR) is a GT-Class road racing compound delivering unparalleled initial bite and braking torque, with excellent modulation and release, a very linear pedal feel for consistence performance, and extreme fade resistance. The spec(VR) has a flat torque curve, with a coefficient of friction of 0.64mu, up to a fade point in excess of 1550F. Additionally, the spec(VR) is surprisingly rotor friendly, and has excellent wear rates. Suitable for all GT-Class vehicles, as well as Formula Cars (Atlantic, Continental, Mazda, et al.), and Sport Racers (Radical, Stohr, WSR, et al.)"
So, has anyone tried those brakes yet?

This one in particular was tested at Daytona International Speedway in Florida this year.
As far as Ferrari running on Cobalts, i'd say they wouldn't pick it unless they trusted them and that speaks for itself, hence my original question if anyone run the pads on a WRX. I've run them (the VRs) on my civic and and on a Type-R and they were wonderfull.
I've also run the GT-Sports when i still had the WRX and they were the best brakes i had on that car.

An honest mistake, I was just kidding anyway. You may want to check the brake pad thread if you haven't already someone may have posted there about these pads.

Search function for Cobalt Friction found 3 posts in the brake forum. This one mentions the Spec VR becoming available, but no mention of the actuall performance on the WRX.
Anyone out there running them or willing to give them a try?

I know I'm diggin up an old post. But I just bought a set of Spec VR's from Cobalt and gonna run them at CMP at the end of April. I'll post impressions. As of now I have the GT-Sports and love them! Huge difference from stock.
