Gauging interest.....sway bars for 04-07 STi...

Originally posted on Iwsti Nov 2006-( updated April 2008)

So 9 months into our planning of sway bars for 04 to 07 STI, I wanted to get feedback from the Subaru community and more specific , the STi community.

Hollow, modular,solid,..............what do YOU guys like. We know and see what sells, but we want to hear from you guys(and gals).

22mm is small and 32 is too big and makes noise.............we like things that work and work well. Function always matters, but being able to drive every day without a drum solo under the car is key, so let the feedback begin.

We are ALL ears. I think we are on the right track, but we like to hear from you people.

Well we are not done, but here they are. We did not try to recreate the wheel, but to offer something in between in size and address some of the issues we see out there.

Diameter 25.5mm
Solid bars.
Material 4142 Chrome Moly
Heat treated and cold finished.
Ends are hot forged on a 125 ton press.
Front and rear adjustable.
washer tabs on front and rear to prevent walking.
Black in color. (unless you guys have a better idea)

More specs very soon. We test fit them today and they fit fine with no rubbing and no noise. Rear is done and just needs to be powder coated. Fronts we have one revision to do.

I am very happy about this and have wanted to do it sooner, but there are still many non modded cars out there and with the new STI here, we arent turning our back on you 04-07 STi owners.

We have 3 beta testers who will be getting these shortly for long term testing. Clint at TIC will get the first set after that and Boost Junkie already has his on ( unpainted at that) for noise testing and fitment checks.

Hope you guys like this. As always I am nervous as its new and I was up in the air about doing this for a LOOOONG time.

More pics tomorrow.

Hey Myles, what are the adjustments going to be set at for these bars? Black looks good, but I am digging the Titanium look that the above bars have (it would match my exhaust). Are you going to be offering Sway Bars for the WRX as well (mine is an '03 and I would be willing to be a test fitter for you if you need one)?

25.5mm at the softest, up to 28.5mm. STi fitment only at this time.

Thanks for the update Andrew. Too bad about not having WRX fitments at this time, but if you guys decide to do the WRX bars at some point I'd definitely be willing to be a Test Fitter.
