Front sway bar help.
I have an 04' impreza 2.5ts wagon. I just upgraded the rear sway bar to the 20mm WRX rear sway bar. What a different in body roll and handling.
No I am wondreing if there is any benefit to getting the WRX front sway bar as well? Would it make the car too stiff or have too much understeer??

Upgrade the front links instead of a complete bar, if your ride is still lacking, upgrade the bar. You may want to get some strut braces since the added rigidity of your sway bar will make your car compensate by flewing the body slighty more than it used to. (do this only if you ride hard corners all day)

BTW, I put the 20mm on the back of my OBS as well (stock is 13). It pretty much neutralized my understeer. The car is much more fun in the corners now.

I just put a stiffer front swaybar in my 02 wrx wagon. For the WRX, you need a bar specific for the wagon and always stiffen the rear swaybar first or you may get a suprise in a corner. I also have ALK and Helix endlinks (wagon uses different front endlinks than the sedan), and Toyo RS1 on the stock rims. I am watching for flaking paint that could be a sign of too much stress on the suspension from the front swaybar and links (a potential problem noted in a forum long ago). I've had the links on for a year and the bar on for a month and have not noticed anything. The front swaybar would be the last mod I'd do as it was the least noticable. My most instantly noticable improvements in fun factor were from tires and a good alignment, followed by the rear bar/ links and the ALK. On the street, the front bar does make a difference in preventing the car from "floating" in the corners, but it also seems to make the car less forgiving if you enter a turn that has debris (ie. gravel, rocks) in the apex. I am concerned that on winter tires, I will need to remove the swaybar and go back to stock or the car may have too much of a tendency to oversteer on the ice / snow if pushed into a corner.

Thanks guys,
I think I will leave the fron alone fo now and focus on other parts of the suspension.
I was just curious since the rear bar increased my fun factor so much. (13mm to a 20mm)
And if the fronts are all pretty close in diameter then I will not notice as much differnce as the rear.
Also I do want to worry about changing the bar in the winter. With my luck I would forget to do when it starts snowing around here and wind up someplace rather unexpected.
