finicky hill-holder on 04 forester
hey all,
i have an 04 forester that is great, except the hill holder unit is really sensitive. i think it might even be the way the clutch is adjusted - it grabs all at once, instead of over a longer release period.
so what happens is this - i come to a stop on a slight incline and the hill holder engages the brakes. i go to start from a stop, and unless i really rev the gas, the vehicle will stall because the clutch is grabbing but the brake isn't releasing.
i don't know if this makes sense. i found a pdf online that showed how to adjust the hill holder unit, but it said not to do it on your own so i didn't want to mess with it. i took it to the dealer and they 'fixed' it - but nothing changed. should i take it to another dealer and have them look at it? can i fix this myself?
thanks,
wolfie
