eibach springs installation
I want to hear from anyone who has done this installation on an 03 sedan.
I'm having trouble taking off the top bolt of the strut assembley.
The instructions I got online say to just use a 17mm socket whle in a spring compressor, which I did, but the housing spins?
Please help! Thanks

you either need a pass-through ratchet or the socket and a pair of clamping pliers. What you have to do is turn that top bolt and keep everything else still by using an allen wrench in the middle (look down at that top bolt and you'll see where). I just took some clamping pliers and put them as tight as I could on the socket, stuck that on, put in the allen wrench, and then grabbed that with another pair of pliers, then turn

it's alot easier with a buddy.
have someone hold the clamping pliers (with some kind of rag or something between the pliers and the strut housing, as you don't want to scratch the housing) while the other guy uses a socket to unscrew the nut. much more efficient with an impact wrench but can be done with hand tools just the same.

hmm, i have done this on a 03 and it was easy. no compresser needed. just grab an inpact gun and zip it off. the impact will spin fater then the shaft can and it will come right off.
and since you are putting lowering springs on you dont need to compress those either, just install them.
