Do Eibachs work w/ wagon>
I recently purchased an Eibach Pro-kit, for My 02 WRX Wagon. I read on another forum that the kit was made for the sedan. Is this true? I have seen a lot of people on forums with this kit on wagons. Will it work OK with My Wagon or Should I by something else. I have seen H&Rs on a wagon with 18in Vol te37's, and it was beautiful, but those springs were designed for the sedan. Please help

Eibach pro kit on a wagon
Thanks! I was a little worried that ththe pro-kit would be to light for the heavier Wagon. Do you know anywhere I could find a picture of a wagon with the Eibach pro kit installed. Have you or anyone else heard of anyone using the eibach pro-kit on a wagon, and if so what were the results. Strange thing, but I just looked up prodrives speings, and eibach makes the series they sell and the drop is exactly the same as the eibach pro kit.

I have a friend with an '02 wagon and his Eibachs work and look wonderful with the 17's!! He has slightly over 10k on them without a lick of problems.
I will take the digital cam to work today and take some pics so you can see

Yes, Eibachs will work - I have them on my wagon -
BUT
The Eibachs are progressive springs - and the extra 80 lbs. in the back starts to compress the progressive portion of the spring. So your wagon will look a little saggy in the back, and you'll have to be VERY careful about your wheel and tire choice unless you roll the rear fenders. Here's a pic of my wagon with my new summer wheel / tire combo
With +48 mm Rota Attacks and Kumho 712's, I'm very close to rubbing in the back - 225's would rub like crazy, and even different brand 215's will as well. And with stuff in the back, I'm very low.
Bottom line - if you haven't already bought them, go with some other non-progressive spring. If you have, just be aware you're going to be lower than advertised in the back.

Eibach lower spring will work just fine. However, if you are really picky person, you should get TEIN STECH spring, because unlike most company cross use the lower spring between sedan and wagon. Tein actually developed and designed a different set of the spring for the wagon.
The blue wagon looks nice. ever consider to put a body kit on? I saw one from www.rg-s.com, I think it will look cool on your car.

I already have the eibach pro-kit sitting in my living room, and now I am having second thoughts. I am thinking about the S-tech springs, from tein, or prodrive, or I did see a feature in super street on a silver wagon with H&R springs, and it looked great. I guess I'm more confused than ever. I agree that the s-tech wagon spring though is good because it is made especially for the wagon, but I have seen different numbers for lowering height from different distributors on the s-techs. anymore advice would help

Not sure if I'm helping or hindering - hehe. When I purchased my Eibachs from Gruppe-S, I was orginally considering the Tein S-Tech wagon springs. Sadly, Tein was redoing their product line at the time, so the springs were on perma-backorder. The prodrive springs were either impossible to find or stupidly expensive, so I went Eibach. Do I like them? Yes, a great deal. Do I regret installing them? No. Would I buy them today over another brand of spring? No - I'd get some non-progressive springs, probably the S-Techs from Gruppe-S.
If it were me, and I had an uninstalled pro kit for my wagon, I'd put the Eibachs up in the private sale forum for ~$200 or return them to the vendor, if possible, and then go over to www.gruppe-s.com and buy the S-Tech springs for $145 shipped. I think it'll be a more care free solution for you, since you won't have to worry as much about rubbing in the back.

Eibachs VS s-techs
Basil, I called gruppe-s and they said the s-tech spring will no longer be available after the batch they have. Tein will only be making one spring that will be used for both the wagon and sedan from know on. I order some last night, and I called them today to inqure about the sag you had talked about. Their answer was the S-tech wagon and eibach kit lower the rear the same amount, and to expect some extra sag from the s-tech also. So as far as rubbing goes, it looks like I'm screwed either way. He also stated that the reason the car looks like it is sagging, is because the 1.3 inch eibach front end drop and the 1 inch rear retains more of the original fender gap in the front. Stock the front end has much more fender gap then the rear and it just looks like it's sagging but it's really darn close to the way it should be. He also said the s-techs were very harsh in ride quality because of the amount of lowering is greater, and will cause factory struts to wear out faster. I think i'll stick with the eibachs. I cannot see any sag in the rear of your car in the picture above. There is a little more gap in the front, but the car is perfectly level along the base (side skirts) as I look at the picture. It's a nice looking car!!!!

I just called RG-S Inc. and they told me the same thing too. Tein is only going to make one type of spring for both sedan and wagon now. Well, I guess before someone actually use the newer STECH, I don't know what to suggest. Anyway, good luck with the Eibach.

Well doesn't that just suck? Hmm. It's a real shame Tein has decided to go that way - the old S-Tech's for the wagon actually lowered the car less than sedan.
As to sag - as much as I respect Gruppe-S, I don't entirely buy their story. I find it odd that I have less fender clearance in the rear than a sedan with the same springs - I don't think it's all optical illusion. Anywho -

We'll see if my opinion changes after taking the car on a road course. They do have a very nice ride on the street, and are well matched to the stock struts.
