Question Custom machine spacers instead of washer mod

Hi everyone...

A guy on NASIOC made a handful of spacers for his 02-03 Tokico D-Specs to use on his 04-05 WRX. He and others have ran them for 25K miles or so with no issues or clunking. From his threads it does not sound like he intends to mass produce these.

I really think this fills a need that would help WRX and STI owners. Especially since I've read so much stuff about people running washers on the rears and having them ovalized or ovalizing the tophats.

I am going to start machining these spacers and need (2) people who want to use 02-03 struts with 04+ tophats and springs. Preferably someone who drives a lot of miles and will be putting the struts on within the next couple weeks. It's important that I get your feedback on how it's working out. This should work with Tokico, AGX, KYB or other aftermarket struts.

I'm going to the machine shop today to find out more info and production time.

Who do I talk to about vendor status here on i-Club?

Thanks!

Rob

Thanks for the info.

I should be getting pricing on the spacers soon. If that isn't enough to make a business from I may also adding pre-prepped WRX housings for Koni inserts to the product line (powder coated in a choice of Koni yellow or Cherry Blossom Red).

FYI, the washer mod for the KYB AGX causes the damper to compress more then they should which with many springs will void the KYB warrany and damamge the strut.

This picture is a draft of how I installed mine. I have the USDM STi pink springs, been riding on these for about 5 months now, 15+K miles.

The best option to install the KYB AGX is to drill out the inner lip of the rear 04+ top mount.

Hi, Rob. What is the status on the spacers?
mcdrama, could you give a bit more detail on the drilling of top hats?
thanks.

I have about 24-sets being fabbed at the machine shop right now. If you are doing your suspension soon, I might need a couple people to test out these for me. Are you interested? I'd probably just ask that you pay for shipping and give me feeback on how they are working for you (and of course tell your friends if you like them).

Let me know...

That's cool...nothing wrong with competition. I can probably make them for less (shipped). FYI

I stumbled onto thae site the other night. It looks like they have a lot of cool susp. stuff available for subbies and so on. The fender braces look really beefy as well.
