I have a legacy that brakes suprisingly well. The Kuhmo Ecsta 205/45/17's help, but I still want more. What is the best I can get for very little?

its a 1998 Legacy L. Wheels are 17.7 ASA JS5's. Those are the only mods so far, more are coming.

New high performance pads, better fluid, and SS lines. All that should make a noticable difference in braking performance and feel.

You can get some Dot 4, or Super Blue, or Motul RBF600. If you're not a brand shopper, try to find some with a higher boiling point. I use the Motul, but it is $$$. If you can get some DOT 4.1, that is good and doesn't cost $30/qt. A full flush/drain/refill of my car took just over 1 quart, and when I re-check it this weekend I will have used about 1.5 quarts, total.
