Can't argue with BAN SUVS. Coilovers are great to have. They will cost a whole lot more, but you can adjust the ride height and stiffness if you get the right ones. Cusco and HKS are good ones to get, but they are pretty pricey. H&R's are cheaper, but I have heard that the spring will sag after a while and Tien's do the same. I know one person who had the Tein's and he took them off after about six months. He said the ride quality (no matter the setting) and the handling characteristics it gave him were really bad. He has Cusco now and he loves them. Plus, installing them is a breaze! You don't need a spring compressor, you can just bolt them in. Just get the ride height you want to use and then, do your alignment.

Be careful when choosing Tein coilovers- they have like 10 different setups, most of which are fitted for the WRX. They can ride stock-soft if you get the ones intended for that.

I have JIC FLT-A2s on my wagon. Yeah it rides stiffer but handling issues were definitely fixed. Compared to other coilovers in the market, I think JIC is the best value as they also come with aluminum top mounts and front camber plates.

Jic FLT A2s
LNR
I haven't gotten my hands dirty on my own car since my2000RS. So its been a while since I worked on the car beyond brakes and oil changes. Did you have to do anything with the rear pillow mounts using the Jic FLT A2s. I need a firmer ride and the jarring won't bother me any. Did you install your own? I keep reading on the issues people experience with the wagon, but no solutions. I was looking at the JIC FLT-A2s or just puting in the Rallie Spec STI tarmac springs. My my2002wrx only has 17 rims and a white line 20-24mm adj. sway bar. It was the only part that fit off my200rs.
Your car looks great, so I am sure you know what you are talking about. Any help you can send my way, I'd appreciate it.

Hi Retread,
Sorry about the PM box being full. I have cleared it now. If you are local, i will gladly give you a ride in my car. The rear pillow mounts already come with the FLT-A2 package. The ride is firm and the installation is easier than replacing the springs, because all you do is take out the old struts and replace them with coilovers....Adjust the ride height to your preference and drive to your alignment place. Handles great!
You can email me at LNRenterprises@aol.com if you have more questions about the JICs. I'd be more than happy to help you out.

which is best depends on what you are looking for. For racing, definitely coil overs. But you'll have to put up with some noises and pretty stiff ride on the street.
You can save a lot of $$ by staying away from coilover if you don't absolutely require them for racing.
I'm going with the Koni inserts and ground control adjustable height spring set up. You can choose your own spring rate and ride height.
This will be about twice as stiff as stock. Should do well on the street and autoX because the Konis' can be adjusted for good ride or very tight spring control.
I think this setup is 90% as good as coilovers for 1/2 the cost.
If I evermanage to put it in I'll let you guys know !
