Car pulls to right while braking.

Greetings Everyone,
I just bought a 02 WRX, 42K miles, and I LOVE this car, but under medium to hard braking it pulls to the right.
Any suggestions? Alignment? Rotors?
Also it wanders a bit left and right while driving. (have to keep correcting to keep between the lines)
One more thing, how do I check to see if the ECU has been messed with?
The car feels quicker than the new one I test drove, but I don't see any mods except for Sti muffler and snorkel hacked off.
The turbo heat shield is not there (is it needed?)
The uppipe and down pipe look stock but I guess they could be gutted?

I am planning to buy a Cobb AccessPort since a Chevy Cobalt SS was actually hanging in there with me today!
Thanks in advance.

was it involved in a wreck before? What kind of rims and tires? You may need to change the steering bushing to get rid of "memory steer". We all have it.

Yes, it was in a minor accident. I think the guy used it as his rally-x play car because he had a Sti for street driving. (I bought it from a dealer, so I don't know much about it's past besides that)
Also, I forgot to mention that it has stock size snow tires on it !
I am looking for 17" wheels and tires for the summer.
Thanks.

I suggest have it checked or get it alligned by the dealer you got it from. I am surprised they sold it to you without properly going through it maintenance wise. Actually, I take it back. I am not surprised. Have it checked. Rally-X can be very demanding on a car. I wouldn't even put my own car through it.

Sorry can't help you with the ECU item. The uppipe may have been replaced with an aftermarket piece as well. That maybe the reason why it feels faster.

if you can take the car to a performance shop, they can plug in and look to see if the mappings have been altered.

It could also be that your brake system. If one of the pads is pushing harder then the other ones, it could cause you to pull to one side under braking.

Its possibly a problem with the pads, or the lines perhaps. Maybe there is a leak, causing on side to brake lighter then the other?

walletjes,

As you can see, too many variables. Have the car checked and be safe. Find a Subaru Performance specialist in your area.
