Brake upgrade w/ limitations

I've got an '05 WRX and would like to upgrade the brakes. I don't want to do a big brake kit because I want to use the stock 16 inchers for winter. It's no problem finding replacement slotted or cross-drilled rotors that are the stock size but I'm having trouble finding an upgraded caliper. I'd also like to stay away from Brembo. Maybe something from AP Racing, Wilwood, or Stoptech. Any ideas? Hope I'm not reposting. Thanks

If you want to stick with 16" wheels you are pretty limited in upgraded calipers. Although some Carbotech Bobcat pads, Motul Fluid, SS lines, vented rotors and MC bracket make for a very nice upgrade to the stock system. I am going to be puling off a set of Centric Slotted Rotors and Hawk pads in a week or so if your interested. There are about 5000 miles on them.

some of the 4pot subaru sti calipers will still work under the 16's and the wilwood and perrin 4pots will too.

heres some of the sti calipers taerron was talking about, https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/i...hp?cPath=33_68 , i was thinkin of gettin them too since i want up grade but im leaving stock rims since im going for a sleeper. the only exterior stuff is the "I" badge and STi scoop (ordered yesterday) i need to get some other rims but i want STi bronze, hard to find.

Thanks for the input. I'll probably upgrade to the STi 4-pots as well. One of these days...

if you're looking for better braking, you might consider the rear h6 upgrade as well. the only thing you need are rotors from a legacy with a 6 cyl and the rear caliper brackts from the same car. and change the pads of course. you'd be amazed at the difference.
