04 WRX/ OEM Brakes / Average Lifespan?
I know that the brakes all depend on how it's driven, but I would just like to get an idea as to use and how long everyone's pads are lasting them?
For example, I've got an 04 WRX, with mods and it's my daily driver with no auto x and limited drag track use. I've got 42,000 miles on the brakes and they are just now starting to squeak.
Thanks

Chris, 42,000 miles is a lot more than some owners get out of their stock pads. Don't wait for them to squeak before you inspect the front and rear pads for wear. I wouldn't trust the little metal wear indicators in case they fall off. Check brake pads for wear whenever you do a tire rotation according to the maintenance schedule (or sooner).
I don't much care for the factory WRX pads. I replaced mine with the Axxis Ultimate but will try something different at next replacement time. The Ultimates work fine for everyday use and light track use on a stock to mildly modded car but dust quite a bit.

I think i'm going with the Hawk HPS. For the money, they seem to be a good option. And I've got a dealership who will do the pads and machine the rotos so they fit correctly and not give me sh** about it.
I'd still like to hear what everyone else is running on their brakes though. I thought this might be a good stickie...
Who knows.
Thanks for the help everyone.

I have just almost 45,000 on my original pads as a daily driver 04 WRX, no auto-x or track use. It's been squeeling for almost a month now, and as of yesterday there's 2.5 mm on the front and 2.0 mm lefton the back. Yes I will be replacing them with aftermarkets. It's more for the cost savings than for the performance as OEM pads cost about $250 for the rears at the dealership..

I have about 61,xxx on my front stock stuff (03 wrx) and my front just started to make some noise. I might have 500 miles left on the fronts and the rears about 3k. I down shift, so my stuff has lasted a while. Currently, looking for a front and rear big brake kit. with the 310 whp it's about time.
