OK we need a little help!! We are a little concerned with the AT279 having an offset of 35mm. So anyone that is local to ATL Wheels needs to contact John for a chance to bring your WRX to their shop so we can test fit these wheels and make sure that they will work on the WRX.
If you are interested then please contact JOHN at ALT Wheels and tell him that you have a WRX and you are local and you want to help test fit the AT279s.
ALT WHEELS INFO:
705 Challenter Street, Brea, CA 92821
Telephone: (714) 255-9099
And we will work out some kind of deal for you!!
Please let me know if you can help or if you decide to contact ALT so I know how much more to persue aid!!
Thanks,
Brian

The 35mm statement you made at the beginning on the thread caught my attention at first but didn't say anything about it. I'm originally a VW owner and let me tell you...we stretched the limits of offsets. At one point I had wheels that were 8mm offset and it still looked fine. But that's basically the "euro" look. On Subaru's however is different. From what I researched, aside from the visual part of the wheels possibly sticking out...there's the issue of wheel bearings on Subaru's. Research based on both Nasioc and I-club states that the wheel bearings tend to suffer from lower offsets. Its something I never experienced before with VW's nor is it something that's been experienced by a gazillion lower offset VW owners I know. But the bearing setup could be completely different. Although, when I read through the numerous threads that were created regarding wheel bearings suffering, I did not read a single first hand experience testimony. Basically a lot of people yapping on a theory and blindly believing something they've never experienced. I could be wrong...but I think more factual evidence is definitely needed.

MFactor - I am with you on that I have only heard in "theory" about the bearings....and I am not sure if they are different then the VW all together. I was told be the wheel gods that anything from a 35mm to a 48mm offset would work for the WRX with the ideal sizes being 40 + but I didn't want to offer a wheel to someone for a car without double checking it.
If you would be willing to test fit these wheels then I would be willing to work out a good deal for you on them and if they don't work then you can sell them to a VW owner and still make a profit on them. Cuz I know that they will fit the VWs and other Euro cars like that for sure. This would be a small risk for you to take.
If you are interested in a great deal on these and to help test fit them on your WRX then PM me and I will work something out with you!!
Thanks for your imput and help!!

Do you still need somebody to go and test fit the wheels at ALT? Im willing to go and do that since I work in Fullerton which is right next to Brea and I am curious on how those rims would look on my car.
