Haggled with the dealer for a week and he finnaly came down to 17133.00 then I told him we would have deal if he gave the 750.00 rebate for 1st time buyers. His jaw dropped and then he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I had him bring up the Subaru website and it was right there on the front page. Then he told me that it was only on '03. Again I had him click on the rebate link and '04 was listed. He got up and walked to the back (I guess to clean the crap from his pants) about 5 minutes later he came back and said we had a deal.::banana:

Demo?
IMO, don't buy a demo. The WRX demo I took out , Got Whipped pretty good[By Me]. When I bought one, I picked it, as It was taken off the truck, They did their mech. prep, but I wouldn't even let them wash it. I Still don't let them wash it when I get an oil change.{They Wash all dirty cars with one rag, dry with another community rag}. Bottom line: IMO Get a car with the least exposure to the sales dpt. and public. Low Miles{0-11}, Zero Demo miles, And do all the washing and waxing yourself. Its actually a good quality paint, when adequately cared for. One Caveat: this paint needs the same multistep washing, and waxxing as do other cars that we compare our Suby's to: Porche Vette, EVO, GM torque monsters. Traditionally these owners are meticulous, and uncomprimizing as it applies to their new paint jobs. For whatever reason , WRX drivers seem to be under the impression .That no matter what their experinces, off road or on, no matter how hard they pound their cars, their paint should emerge perfect! LOOK at our bigger brothers! They spend alot of time, $. and sweat , to make their rides look good . So should we! Please quit conplaining!You have an exotic car.,Treat it like one. 02 ts wagon w/ 200 miles
i bought an 02 w/200 miles on it for 15,800 before taxes
i was looking at a late model specifically to save some ca$h
no way i could have gotten the same car (04 model) for anywhere near that price
besides, i had to have an 02/03
liked the bug eyes better
i've had it for less than a month and it runs fine
all those of you worried about something going wrong later,
don't put it all on the dealer
check how you treat your baby the first 1,000 miles or so
plus with a ts you don't have that much to worry about
if it were a WRX, i woulda flown to japan to pick that **** up
peace

a lot of dealerships in my area let the owner's and/or top salesman's wife drive the car for a couple of months. A Dodge dealer lives near me and his wife is always driving the latest model out.

No one here will be able to garauntee that you will or will not run into problems with a "demo" car. You now know the possibilities. You need to decide if the discount is worth any potential risks.

what i did was get a quote on a demo then called other local dealers to price match (with a little bit taken off the price 
). one of them said he'd give me one with 7 miles on it for that price and i drove it off the lot the next day.
a friend of mine bought an evo after he test drove a couple other ones at over 100mph, so i'd avoid it. this especially true with the wrx's break in period (although views differ on how to break one in).

here's the thing to avoid getting the same car u test drove. when u ask for a test drive, ask them for a color u know u wont buy. for example, a green one or something; bottom line is just make sure the color of the car u test drive is not the same color of the car u get. this doesn't guarantee that others have not beaten on your car, but this at least guarantees that YOU haven't beaten on your own car when u get it. and when sit down and finally discuss price, then u tell them u want a white one or something, usually by this time after beating up the green one, the dealers will ask why not the green one, i thought u wanted to get that one, and here's your chacne to say it in their face, "read my lips, i HATE green". =] that's what i did. except it was black, not that i hate black, i was just looking for a white wrx. =P
