this reminds me of the time i was out shopping for cars and i was trying to decided between the RS and the WRX. i was crusing in the WRX and the sales lady was like drive it hard so you can feel what it is like. she took over the wheels and guns it down the road. i'm like that is nice and she does some more acceleration runs for me. she says she just loves the power. overall i'm like that is nice espeically since this car only has 125 miles on it and who knows how many times she has does this. btw she was a 53 year old lady with grandkids.

moral of the story sales people also abuse their cars just to make the sale so stay away from test drive ones.

i would not get a demo car, but i would think that customers want to hammer a wrx sedan/wagon just to feel the turbo kick in, but i dont think many other people would hammer a TS. just my opinion

you can search aroudn and read the horror stories from people that have taken out the dealer demo and just hammered it.

there are plenty of stories also about sales people taking out WRXs for lunch runs

there are a few differences between the 02/03 2.5TS and the 04 TS

1) disc brakes in rear instead of drum

2) keyless entry is standard

3) EBD is standard (electronic brake distribution)

4) 4 sensor/4 channel ABS vs old 3 sensor

5) active head rests (a new safety feature)

6) more aerodynamic front end

7) a meatier tailpipe (doesn't look like a pea shooter)

that's all i can think of so far.

And another vote to not buying a demo car unless it was heavily discounted. and i mean HEAVILY...

If discounted heavily, and IF the dealership agrees to take responsibility and doesn't try to weasel out of any problems that may have not been my fault. (clutch, tranny, engine problems)

then mabey. =)

The city lights on the front sides of the front fenders flares have disappeared, too. They're jammed inside the headlight array now. What a shame...

Thumbs down

Personally, I'd never buy a dealer demo car. It's really a used car with a discounted new car price. The dealer will still NOT lose money. It's not their business to lose money in any transaction no matter what they tell you...
