Warning about checking ATF on WRX's

The owners manual recommends checking the automatic transmission fluid level after you've been driving the vehicle for a while. well, after about a 15 minute commute, I get home, let the car sit for about a half hour, and figure i ought to check the level. I'd added some yesterday and wanted to make sure it was the right ammount. DO NOT CHECK IF THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN RECENTLY. check the level on the cold scale after the car has sit for a few hours.

whoever placed the ATF dipstick below the intercooler and that close to the engine needs to be shot in the head. I burned my arm so ****ing bad that the outer couple layers of skin literally melted. it happened so fast, I didn't even feel it till after i pulled my arm out.

Who knew that someone who drove an automatic would actually take initiative for their own car's maintenance?

Crap, I set off the drama detector. For the record I know Russ personally and am reasonably certain he understands that it is a joke.

si. i took it to be pretty harsh that day, but that's cuz i had a fresh third degree burn on my arm and didn't find anything humorous.

it's all good cuz we all know my automatic will smoke kev's sticky stick any day of the week.

and don't even bother to try checking the front diff fluid. that dipstick is conveniently located way too close to the turbo and downpipe.
