I would have gotten a wagon if it had the fender flares. Has anyone done this? Maybe even a widebody kit?

Thumbs up Wagons

I very much enjoy my new wagon (had it for all of two weeks now!).

For me, the big selling points were the standard roof rails and of course the added cargo space. The look has really grown on me... it's a great sleeper car and the insurance was less on the wagon to boot.

It's great to have such a practical car that can still get up and go when you want it to.

Love my '03 wagon - I've had luggage, ski's, even SCUBA tanks in the back and the roof rails are more than likely gonna be sporting a kayak rack this summer. Oh and I totally recommend buying the Cargo Tray - saves your trunk carpeting no end of wear'n'tear.

She goes plenty fast enough for me and doesn't have the 'Point your radar gun this way officer!' look of the sedans.

ok, i am fully convinced that the wagon is the only way to go. chances are the dude who originally posted this thread has already made the plunge and boughten his car, but after having owned my 04 wrx wagon for 2.5 months i couldnt be happier.

the car is one of the biggest sleepers made. i have gotten several compliments on the car already as it is different than most cars that can go fast.

For us married guys... the wagon is the only choice

The wife thinks its a sensible/practical station wagon for hauling kids and the dog

The husband knows its a AWD turbo 2 liter for hauling ***

heres my advice- i bought the 03 wagon in 11/02 to please my g.f., getting rid of my 400 h.p. mustang i love the wagon, but the way things are headed these days the wagon was the only way to go... until my fiance'(now she is) decides that we(me) need an sti- she understands that i still have that urge within me- so thank God today we have a wagon and a sedan(sti) i still miss my mustang, but that wagon was the best car i ever had. wagons are priceless!

Let's face it, the WRX is not a beautiful car.

Its beauty lies in the fact that its a tremendous bargain and still has that offbeat cachet that something like a SRT-4 is just missing (not to mention AWD)...as well as Japanese quality.

Pick the wagon if it suits your lifestyle better but it neither is going to win any design awards.

That said, the wagon is way better looking.

STONE HIM!
the wrx is the most beautiful car in the world!
the wagon does look better though
IMO subaru designers can kinda miss the mark when it comes
to styling-but they sure don't miss the mark when it comes to engineering! maybe thats why they hired one of the former chief designers from BMW.
