Turbo Issues
I understand some of you guys have had tranny issues to talk about, but what about turbo issues... I understand that turbos are notorious for going out after a good 30k miles in most cars, but has anybody had a Subaru Turbo go out on 'em yet?

I think what you may find is that a lot of turbos don't make it to that 30k mark because people upgrade to bigger ones. Not due to problems, but due to the thirst for power. You could check the warranty and turbo forums for more in depth info.
I've yet to hear of any issues though. (oh, and if your turbo does go out, usually someone will sell theirs (if they upgraded) for a decent price or you can just buy a bigger turbo for about $1k)

it's only those that put turbos on cars that aren't supposed to have turbos that have issues. The wrx was engineered with a turbo and has been improved on for the last decade or so. The car should last for well over 100k miles if properly maintained.

It's all about maintaining and babying your car. Don't ride it hard and put it away wet or else yeah your turbo might give out at 30. Always let it warm up before riding it hard. And before shutter her down give her a few seconds to cool down. Good Luck.

Lets not forget the factory warranty to back you up! Not bad compared to all the guys spending big bucks on souping up their cars w/turbo's only to have problems and no warranty. Subaru has a low boost turbo wich will add to the life of the car. And, i see alot of used WRX's out there with 80,000 miles and they still run strong (they have been out for over 3yrs now- i guess we would have know by now they would not hold up!!)
