trans/diff oil (for an '04 STi?)

trans/diff oil

went to the subaru dealer to pick up parts for my 30k service.

they gave me GM axle lubricant SAE 80W-90 and said this is what the tech's recommend.

is it safe to use this for my trans and rear diff? i thought i was supposd to use 75W-90. someone please enlighten me.

this is for an 04 sti

Car Info: Broken ass stock '02 WRX
I use 75 90, that is what the manual states you should use, at least on a WRX. I wouldn't imagine an STi would be different, but I have been wrong from time to time
