STI '06, how much did you pay?

The Subaru dealer in Monteray gave the invoice quote + lifetime oil changes. My suggestion is to go on Subaru's website and visit every dealerships homepage, you'll find inventory info on the pages along with a VIN. Then call around to every dealership you're willing to drive to and ask for a sales manager. Let them know you're looking to buy an STi today and you're calling every dealership in your area and giving your business to the lowest offer.
You're not always going to get the best deal at the same dealership (unless you have previous relationship with them) because the amount they're willing to discount is dependant on how their sales look for the day/week/month, how many STi's they have on the floor and how long they've been sitting there. The more STi's and the longer they sit there, the more they want to unload them since they are paying interest on them every day.
Good luck!

AAAAAAHHHHhhhhhhh! YOU nuts??????? THAT is why we are having trouble selling '06's. We have THREE that have been here since OCTOBER. Keep the '05! I just sold an '05 with 6K miles for MSRP on an '06! "Houston (Subaru?), we have a problem here!" Send the guy who designed the the Tribeca and Impreza grill packing back to Alfa Romeo. Pizza good. Grills bad!

I think i'm going to be heading down to a Subby Dealership in CA sometime soon (within a week or two) and going to grab me an 06 STI as well. Where did you guys get the best deals? From what i've read, alot of people seem to like the dealership in Santa Cruz. I'm willing to drive an hour or two for the right price. Anyone go through Costco? My parents got their cars through them and just paid 500 over invoice. I would'nt mind taking advantage of the dealerships since they're have such a hard time moving the 06's
I've been stuck between an Evo9 and STI for the longest time and i've hung out around the evo forums and the subby forums and must say, I like the people on the subby forums alot better. lol.

Got a pearl blue STi for 500.00 under inv, matches what one other dealer would have gone to. I think the main determiner of what you'll get under Inv will be based on whats in stock etc, and also what your time is worth to you, for me this was enough. I do NOT recommend using Stevens Creek, seriously guys get a grip on what the email shopping is all about.
I DO recommend using email to filter out the dealers that won't give an actual indicative price or make any sort of commitment, sorts out the wanna be dealers and time-waster sales fools. Using email was the best filter for me by a long shot.

I got my 06 obp STI last week for invoice, ~32K with short throw, auto dimming, and boost. I paid exactly, to the dollar, what cars101 said was invoice. Santa Cruz Subaru.
