Speculation: How much will the STi depreciate?

The problem is in my area dealers are selling STi's for about 29,500 if you look hard and are willing to drive. I paid 32K + tax for mine back in June, so right there I lost 2,500. After a year and 15,000 miles the car has to depreciate about what $5000 - $7000 I would guess? So add that to the 2,500 difference between June pricing and current pricing and that's where I get my 10K number from. I would suppose that 10K would be the worst case scenario, so maybe say anywhere between 7K - 10K depreciation in the first year. All cars depricate enormously in the first year because look at it from the point of view of a buyer. Are you going to buy a used car just to save 3K? You don't know how that car was treated, broken-in etc....so if you're going to take the risk it has to be worth it, me personally if I was only going to save say 3K by buying a 6month - 1year old car, I'd rather just get a new one.

I dont think they will depreciate as much as your average car. Maybe 15-20%?
And no they are not "limited" in production, there just are not a whole lot being made. There is a big difference.

They will probably depreciate more, in percentage terms, than a normal WRX. That still translates to "very little". This is naturally only the case unless the things become true icons, like MKIV Turbo Supras, which are selling used for about what the sold for new.....
