Recall, and bad luck!
I've been waiting for my recall letter to show up for quite some time, and I finally got it today. The dealership I bought my car from is 400 miles away (wow, North Dakota is great huh) but there is another Subie dealer about 80 miles away. I called up my dealer today and asked them if I could just take my car to the closer one, but to my dismay, they stopped selling Subarus at the end of February!!
At least he felt bad for me, and then he laughed when he said it's only a 10 minute fix. It'd be nice if I could do it myself, but I guess I'll end up driving a couple hours for a 10 minute "clip" job. Maybe I'll just wait till a maintenence appointment... or maybe something will need waranteeing in the next few days.

The letter states that the cable can become loose and lodge at any time even when the cruise control is NOT in use.
Essentially sticking the throttle in an open position. Could be quite dangerous IMO.
But 400 miles WOW. I would wait till you have a major maintenance or service needed.
