Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!
This is my first one its an 06 WRX wagon i have noticed that when extremly cold temps its hard to shift until it warms up. also i have put 1000 miles miles on it and when driven fast (not hard droping clutch) i have notice the smell of clutch. is this normal??? Is it something that will go away after break in?? or should i take it back and let them look at it???

Glass tranny
The WRX 5sp trans has been aptly named the Glass Transmission because of its obvious weaknesses. I just yanked my stock trans and swapped a RA gearset modded trans and it is just amazing how much different the two are. Its like night and day. I had 82k miles on my stock one, and it was starting to clash from time to time, but I think that clutch adjustment had more to do with it than anything else. If your clutch isnt releasing all the way, then your input shaft will still be spinning inside of your transmission, so your synchros will clash. You guys might want to check that before you try to get a warranty, which I have heard is like pulling teeth for SOA.

not when cold; just general.
I've have had this this same problem. I've never launched my car; I've never raced it but the 1-2 times I've drive my car fast on the freeway (lets say starting at the on ramp and speeding upto 80) I've smelt the burning smell of the clutch. I just want to see if anyone else out there other than us two. Is there a way I'm suppose to be speed shifting (as in shifting different at speeds that are accelerating).
