Mobil 1 synthetic, what should the oil change interval be? (was: oil changes....)

None of our engines, and probably not even close on those porsches, need that kind of thickness in oil weight.

5w for new cars, up to like, 70k-100k, and 10w for pretty much any higher mileage motors.

The 15w number is only when the oil is cold. The 50 is for added protection at high rpms and if you drive the car hard. I don't have to worry about power thanks to Mike. 320whp on pump is plenty. I do plan on switching to the 0w40 if I take it to tahoe during the winter.

Then when i goto track events I change it before I go and when I get home from the event. Just a habit

I use Mobil 1 10W30 in my 04 WRX.
I change my engine oil every 3K miles or 3 months
whatever comes first.Mobil 1 is some great stuff and
I highly recommend it.
