Impreza hesitation problems...help!
I have a 2000 Outback Sport that is off lease in a few weeks. It has been a good car over the past four years except for this problem. The car has a hesitation problem that just plain sucks. It happens more during cold weather. (Cold for Los Angeles, mid 40's) It seems to calm a bit after it warms up, but it does not always discriminate with warm or cold temps. I believe the O2 sensor was replaced about two years ago after I got a CEL. Somedays it's OK and somedays it feels like it's going to shake the car to pieces. It is worst in 1st and 2nd gear. I have heard of problems with a particular sensor (MAF, MAP?) that sends a "false" signal to the ECU. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help.

The most common fix for it would be a new flywheel. it is caused by the fly wheel not wearing evenly and not warming up properly to grip when you release the clutch. Try letting the car warm up for a while every time befor driving this might solve your problem with out changing it.
