I'm at a loss (CEL indicates gas cap, but that doesn't fix it)

Did you install a new fuel pump? If so the seal at the top of the fuel tank under the seat may not be placed correctly, this is a common problem after doing a fuel pump and will result in a CEL. Pull the seat and have a look.

Although there are many reason for this my thought is a loose hose. Specifically in the back right corner. There is a black box, I think it's a charcoal filter. The hose that is attacheched to the side closest to the bumper on my car is very loose. I am going to hit up the hardware store and get some hose clamps and clamp them down and see if that helps. The Subaru dealer also pointed that out to me when I inquired about it.

word^^^ if i get my digi this weekend ill be posting pix of the black box. and thank you mulder i was thinkin about the rubber seal too so this weekend ill be rechecking that area to see if that is the problem which is pretty likely.
