How is Road Noise in STI ?
I have an 02' WRX with aftermarket exhaust.....and it's fairly loud inside the car when your going through the gears. Even on the highway at Idle speed, you have a good amount of road noise in these WRX's. These cars are pretty light & hallow with minimal insulation. I was wondering if road noise in the STI is worse than the regular WRX since they tryed to cut a lot of weight and use thinner materials?
I know a lot of you STI owners have owned regular WRX's before.
Just curious what you guys think ?
Thanks,
Jeff -

i currently have an 03 wrx and an 04 sti
the noise difference is significantly more in the sti.
however its not really a bad thing.
my stereo usually gets turned up so i really don't care about road noise.
theonly time i really notice road noise is when i drive on a poorly paved road.
my wrx seems so luxury like one i get to driving it again.
oh, and potholes can traumatize you mentally but in reality these cars are solid!

de nada...
that is one main reason that i am not too hip on the idea of an aftermarket exhaust (other than cost)
i cant stand loud cabins, but i am used to german cars = much quieter
