Nate,
If I may ask, where did you acquire yours? I was at the dealership today, and I quoted this site, and he told me that the members of this site are liars. There is no way they got their wrxs so cheap.... :-P

Got mine at Performance Subaru in New Orleans. The guy I delt with was super easy to work with, and I guess with Katrina rolling through this area, subaru is offering some "Katrina Relief" packages to the dealers. Performance has NO stock (all cars distroyed in the hurricane due to flooding), and they are working out of the owner's home's garage! It was interesting to say the least. If you want a car from Performance, they have to order it, hence why I have to wait until late Feb. to get my car...

But I think the price I got was due to
a.) Katrina hurricane relief stuff by subaru (all the major car makers are doing it)
b.) they want to sell cars, and without a physical car lot/ sales office, they are making great deals to move the cars.

Cool Stevens Creek

At Stevens Creek, they wanted 25,370 otd for a CGM wagon with boost gauge, short shifter, compass mirror and trunk mat. I told them 24,500 and I would take it home. 25,370 was a pretty good price, but.....

Their heavyset, middle aged fleet manager said "you're a stubborn buyer," (for me attemtping to negotiate lower and not yeilding to his offer) I walked away.....

Have you tried on-line dealerships?

I have contacted a few of the on-line divisions of local dealerships (reputable brick and mortor stores with an online portion) and I have gotten some pretty good quotes.

For a TR I was quoted $21,800, and for a base ~$23,000.

The nice thing about these is that the quote is in writing (just print out the e-mail) and go in for the test drive.

Unfortunately I won't be buying my '06 for a few more months, but atleast it gives me an idea of what to expect.

Another thing, is that these were the prices quoted right of the bat, no haggling on my part at all. It makes me wonder how firm these prices are (probably pretty firm).

They said that they can offer lower prices because they do not have the overhead costs associated with the retail sales department.

These were from dealerships in the portland, or area.

21800 seems a lil high for a TR, im not sure what they took off on the TR but my 05 wrx i got $22,244 before taxes, only around $400 more.

Finally!!!

I finally picked up my WRX yesterday. I went to the dealer with the intention of just looking and doing a test drive, but they were having a really good sale. Also a friend of mine is a salesman, so I know I got treated right.

I got an '06 WRX Limited sedan with short throw shifter for $25,124. I am happy with that. Also, the car only had 9 miles on it (no test drives, or at most one short one).

I wanted a regular non-TR WRX, but those are nowhere to be found. This black limited was also the only limited non-wagon on the lot. They had about 6-8 TRs and about a dozen STis.

Now the long break-in period starts. I already put about 30 miles on it last night on some curvy roads and it was great. Didn't have a whole lot of time, but maybe a longer drive today.
