Horrible Gas Mileage - 02 WRX

So, maybe this is pure coincidence. But I recently changed tires, stock 16, but wider from 205 to 225. And I notice my full tank when empty I am only getting like 280 per tank. So on my next tank, I fill up and run it out and I got around 330. So this week, I am running it out and I am at 200 miles and I my needle is at the last line on the gas gauge.

I have 02 wrx, uppipe and prodrive axleback. Just changed oil, new tires.
Mileage 118,xxx. Any ideas guys?

Any help much obliged.

no I always get 330-350, because I commute to work everyday. Its only freeway miles. My driving style hasnt changed. Its weird because the engine seems to idle fine.

I have changed my fuel filter within the last 6000 miles, air filter within the last 8000, oil change fresh. Engine idles fine. I usually run about 200 miles per half tank and 130-150 on the other. Could it be the winter fuel?

seriously though, i only drive to and from work going with the flow of traffic at 50 mph. my driving style hasnt changed. I was thinking 02 sensor or MAF sensor. maybe messing with my mileage.

different tires can effects gas mileage to an extent. the pressur eyou have them at is what really will have an effect. also did your tire wall change at all or did that stay the same as well?

Yeah stock are 205/55/16, And I changed to 225/50/16 and my tire pressure is pretty high or highway travel. MAx pressure is 50. I have it about 47 all around.

should I replace them or just clean them? how many we got lol, one on the downpipe and one of the mid pipe? Also I don't have a CEL, so I am kind of steering away from that right now

02?? definately could be a gas leak. i have an 02 n it has a gas leak. apparently the early 02's had gas leaks then it was fixed. haven't had a chance 2 c if my warranty covers it yet though. i just smelled gas in the mornings when it was super cold n had my heater blasting. i looked it up online n found out it could be a gas leak. i get around 18 mpg too. have ur dealer check it out i guess??
