Headlight Replacement Problem
This may sound silly, but I'm trying to change one of my headlight bulbs on my 97 legacy and I can't for the life of me pull the bulb out of the socket. Could it be corroded? Is there some special trick I'm missing? It seems like it should just pull out. The bulb is a 9003.

Not silly at all, I've replaced a few headlights in my subie in only 9 months. Make sure you are gripping the little rubber connector on the sides, I think it has arrows where to put pressure. Squeeze on the connector sides and pull out. It wouldn't hurt to spray some electrical cleaner in the sockets after you get them off. I don't know if this matters, but you may also want to unhook the battery's negative terminal if you spray electrical cleaner in the socket. I've noticed, like you, that those can be a pain to get off sometimes. It seems like my passenger side one is the one hard to get off. Keep trying, you'll get it.
