Car Info: No car right now....sob.
my good friend has an 00 2.5 rs, auto, and he says it gets enough bang for the buck, so to speak. i would never have a performance based car that is an auto, but, to each is his own....

I would buy that car if it is really as nice as you say.Yes they are hard to come by and especially one that hasn't been too tampered with.At least with an auto you don't have to worry as much about wear and tear with someones driving habits compared with a manual.
If your that concerned about power and speed, buy another type of vehicle.Problem is price and insurance......know what I mean!
Good choice,I'd pick it up and if you don't like it in a few months, sell it.You likely won't loose very much money.
Have a good weekend!!!!

The '02 RS is sorta down on power to begin with, I definitely wouldn't choose an auto.

I haven't checked what the blue book value is for a MY02 (model year 2002) RS but $11k doesn't sound like that good of a deal to me for a car with 69k on the clock.

For any previously-owned car, ask to see maintenance and service records.

If its an auto the backroads may not be as fun if dont have a 5spd. manual. However its still a great car.

check to see if it had the 30,000 mile service with major fluids, spark plugs and filters change. plus check to see if he had the timing belt checked @ 30 and 60k miles.(coolant, spark plugs replaced too) the kbb.com value for the car "Private Party Value" is 12,275. check to see if the mileage is city/highway miles hard driving or not. . . good luck!

sounds reasonable but not an amazing deal. if the car was not properly maintained, you will be hating life after shelling out 11K
