Is $1900 off STI MSRP a good deal
Is this great, average or what?
BTW, my name has nothing to do with an Evo. I've used this name on every other board I belong to. I mean it in the context of the EVO magazine which defines EVO as "the thrill of driving"

Its nice to see this crowd has a sense of humor and doesn't take the cars too seriously. You would be surprised at how ignorant other car guys can be. However I've read the threads about which one to buy as I've been struggling with this for some time now. I think I've made a good decison.
Now back to whether I'm getting a good deal or not!

thats good, more important to look at is invoice but I'd jump on 1900 off msrp (as long as I didnt have to finance through the dealer)
and on a side note, not trying to be rude but what do you do for a living becuase that is one helluva collection of cars

I just got my '04 STi @ $750 over invoice in the Atlanta market. Start with invoice and then pick a number like $500 or $750 and go ask the dealer if they'll let you have it for that. Best to have your financing all lined up already or better yet, have a check in hand. Most of the time, if you show them a blank check, they'll bite. Don't let them screw you over on do dads and extra tack on charges. Just simply refuse to pay for them. Get up and start to leave if you need to. The dealer I tried to buy from tried to sneak $275 for advertising into the deal as well as $400 for "dealer prep". I stuck to my guns and got that part negated.

Well I did just that today and pulled the trigger on an EVO... I will always have a fondness of subaru and especially the STI. But considering I'm moving to Washington DC which is hilly and full of curves, plus the mod potential I think I made a good decision for my needs right now.
