Eclipses are heavier than the rex. Awhile back i was thinkin the same comparison. think about the 3000GT. YUM! how long will a used mitsu last compared to a new Rex. the 3000gt is about 2tons. neither is great around corners without a thousand bux or more in suspension mods. Rex is bred for rally. Used cars breakdown more often and mitsu parts arent cheap. The rex would have a warranty I'd hate to have a 20kloan on my back though. I'm 21 also and i got a awesome deal on a used rex. i have a camry that i use most of the time.reliable and verycheap. my rex is my pimpride that I use goin to beach and away for the weekends. i've only put 190miles on it in 30+/- days. I plan to have my subaru for along time and keep it garaged. Awesome dealer & aftermarket options plus a Blast to drive. if u get used u have to find a car the right color and options u really want. if u get new u get to "make your own". My 03rex pulls alot more than my old 97 Clipse

If you are mister godly mechanic....

'90 eclipse/talon/laser AWD turbo w/ a head swap from 2G dsm...

1G dsm will always be the street king in the hands of good mechanics....

BUT since you and I are mere mortals, the WRX owns all, simply because it's new. Remember that engines will lose some power as they get older.

And even though the WRX is cast internals and an aluminum open deck design, the fact that it's 'new' just makes it a lot easier for you in the end.

Don't forgot about the crankwalk issues for the pre-'98 dsm's.

IMO, the GSX/GST doesn't handle as well as a WRX. Also, it's hard to find a used GSX/GST that hasn't been beat on.

i have a wrx and i love it but the gsx is a very sweet car too. you can do alot of cool things with them. for like 150 dollars you can mod the the diff and make it FULL 50/50 torque split.. 25% to each wheel at ALL times... they make hella power if you upgrade... its basically the lan evo motor. imo they are cool cars but id still get a wrx because you cant outdo the boxer rumble... its music to my ears.
