remember the stock injectors are 565cc, that's quite a bit. But only getting 220 on a whole tank is a little short, on freeway cruises I've gotten over 300 before the fuel light came on. But if you're going WOT from light to light and every chance you get, 220 is about right.

Even with my protege i rarely see 300 before fuel light though i do come very close to that like in the 280+ range.
All highway best i got was an astonishing near 400 on tank (100% highway though)

evens the dad's Mustang Rouche stage 2 gets better mpg than that though... Your STI would spank his *** hands down in any race.

I think what makes my gas mileage suck so bad is that I'm always passing people up without down shifting to a lower gear. I know it's weird to think about, but it requires more gasoline to make your car get up to speed in a higher gear than down shifting and playing in higher rpm's. I'm not sure why exactly, but I think it's because of that habit. When I went up in the mountains and had my car in the 4-5K rpm range, I got about 18 miles to the gallon. Interesting isn't it?

I usually get anywhere from 230 - 280 miles to a full tank. Of course, driving style makes a huge diff. When I get 230 miles, it is cause I had a lead foot that week. The 280 mile weeks are when I was a bit more "sedate"

luging the engine does get better gas mileage
look at a mustang's gearing if it had the power it could do 205 mph thats how it can get mileage for the government and epa emission passed
