WRX/STi miles-per-tankful thread (GUESStimates only, not calculated gas mileage)

up/dp , stock exhaust, i avg around 290-300. with a 3" catback i still avg'd the same. this is sitting in LA rush hour everyday. though ive seen as low as 210 miles on a full tank :P
wheels made a huge difference in my mpg . stock wheels i would get about 320-330
a friend who has a bone stock wrx got up to around 380 miles before the light turned on, mostly freeway.

You know, this thread has been around a long time and the original poster isn't even registered anymore, but the title drives me crazy.
Why would someone explicitly ask for miles-per-tankful, then stipulate they don't actually want real numbers, they just want people to "guess" at them.
"Hmm, well, I know the answer exactly, but since you don't want actual numbers, I'll just through a guess out there. Say.... 900 miles per tank."

Gas mileage
I have a 02' wagon with a cobb catted down pipe and Hks hiper cat back exh and a Injen intake. My rims are 17's with 225/45. I am getting about 200-220 to a tank. What are you guys getting? This is driving mostly in the city. I know we get crappy mileage in the city but it seems worse then what it should be. When we get in on the highway it jumps up to anywere between 300-400 or even more.

I've got an '04 sedan with Cobb AP, D/P, U/P, and exhaust. I'm getting better gas mileage than before w/ my setup. I used to get about 325 a tank while doing some highway and city, but now it's up to about 350 a tank.
Still have the stock wheels. I also had the 30k maintenance done. It could also be that the weather is colder and I'm not using the A/C at all which definitely helps out.

06 wrx limited 5mt
no mods
no subs weighing me down. (yet)
20mpg for the 1st fillup
looking around the same for the 2nd tank
ran dealer gas for the 1st tank, amoco ultimate for the second
does everyone use super? is there a noticeable difference with 87 octane? how about super and an octane boost additive? better mpg/performance??

Yes on a WRX you are supposed to use premium unleaded fuel. As for octane boosters, you will not feel a noticably huge difference until you've ran a tank or so of booster through your tank. The ECU usually needs alittle time to realize it's in there to take advantage of it. But premium unleaded is great for all around driving...unless you've had your ECU mapped for higher octane fuels...then putt around town on 100 octane

Additional octane beyond what the engine requires or is tuned for gains nothing. For an engine without mods, even additional tuning for better economy would probably not offset the higher cost of adding the octane booster to premium fuel at each fill-up.
