I went through the same dilema this summer....both drove great, but the WRX was faster and had AWD, which is a definate plus here in Chicago...plus the Subaru dealer gave me a MUCH better deal than the Acura bastard who refused to budge. The RSX is better looking IMO and gets better gas mileage, but I am 100% happy that I went with the WRX...it suits my needs better.
But when you get down to it, it's what YOU want based on YOUR situation....nothing we say here can change that...it would be a good idea to make a list of pros and cons of each car and go from there.....just make sure you spend equal time on both cars and start haggling BEFORE you decide, get written offers, and play the dealers against each other so you can get the best deal..

why do u want a grocery getter? forget about the wrx... get the acura rsx-s... not only are they kinda fast... but they look faster then they are... and they are more aerodynamic then the wrx, and dont forget... ur comparing acura to subaru... the rsx-s is an awesome and prestigious car company compared to our(subaru) little japanese company that makes ok awd cars that sometime win rallys that only the best rally cars win... i dont know... u pick.

Last I checked, Acura was not a car company! Acura is a model line.
The Integra Type R (JDM SPEC the kept the cool name over there) is a pretty rad Honda.
The USDM Honda RSX-S is allright, ,but overpriced for the performance.
IMPREZA BABY...IMPREZA...WRX that is.
If you do buy it though, you MUST refer to it as an IMPREZA WRX, and not a SUBARU WRX...

I test drove the nice seated high revving little car. It just doenst deliver the goods if you compare to the wrx. Nice car though, but the awd and the four doors and the fact that I wont be driving a preppy gurl car cemented it for me..............ahahahha all of this coming from a 44 year old tooooo..............

Now obviously I'm biased but Honda Tuner isn't. They say that the new series of engines is nowhere near as easy to mod as the b series. They basicly called it a modders nightmare. You can add 50 hp safely to the WRX for under a grand not so with the new RSX the firs exhaust system dc sports tried the lost HP. and you havent even touched the turbo.
The Boxer engine with the Scooby exhaust doesn't sound like a wet fart. http://www.rallyperformance.com/engine.htm.. .go hear and turn up the volume
Also The wrx is on a short list of cars that will give you everything.
Can you make it fast in the 1/4 ....yes
Can you out handle the average car on a Road course....yes
(road and tracks first test was against an A4 quatro WRX was given the better marks)
Can you take it to the woods, snow , mud (whats the line again...the beauty of AWD)....Yes
