WRX Filler door lever & w/w nozzles!
Anyone else have trouble with either the gas filler door sticking or their windsheild washer nozzles freezing? I'll take it into the dealer, but I'm just preparing for the worst ("Sorry - nothing wrong with the car. It must be you.") type of response.
Anyway, it's been getting more and more difficult to open the gas door - usually takes me at least a few tries, and there is no ice in the door itself. Last time it took at least 10. I was wondering if that was a TSB or maybe just another one in the list of "eccentricities" the WRX has. It has never had any kind of tactile click or audible indication that the door has opened. Pretty annoying.
And the WS washers have not worked since the first day it dipped below freezing. I certainly wouldn't need to use them in the winter anyway . Of course, maybe it just came with some cheap fluid that freezes easily. Just wondering if this is common too. Thanks.

I'm guessing you park outside???
? If you open the hood is the whole resivor frozen ?
that is bad...
If so get your car in a warm garage (above freezing) then drain the junk washer fluid that apears to be in there... I personaly use the "purple -35 de-icer" it works good but is pricey if it isn't on sale. usually $2 a gallon normally.
Has the door ever stuck before?
Maby some powdered graphite would loosen it up a little...
cold weather & oils tend to not go well, they get stiff. If you were you use an oil a drop of a full-synthetic (Mobil-1 5w30) on the pivots/hinges

Thanks for the response. Some items I didn't explain before: I have my own garage, the fuel filler door has been tricky to open since new (i.e., above freezing) and even when it does open, you can't hear or feel that, and the w/w fluid tank is NOT frozen at all. Like I said, I will likely have it in the dealer this week. Just wondering if those were common issues.

well i've had the wipers freeze over, but there was an eitre layer of ice over it i chipped it off w/ my fingernail and it worked fine...
and the fuel door, hasn't happened to me, bu ti don't have auto door, i have a tab, and if i yank on it it opens
although once there was about a half inch think layer of ice over the entire car....
but i don't count that cayse my normal doors froze shut then, had to break out an ice scraper and use the corner to break the door free...
