Hi i'm a newbie here, and I just test drove a WRX this afternoon, had lots of fun, but anyway, in the commercial with the two kids drivin around on the twisty mountain road, where he says "this is my favorite part" turns down the radio and listens to the car, is that the STI Muffler on the back that makes that sound? Or was it some other thing?

 

Yeah from what I saw it is the STI muffler on that car. It does sound pretty much like the commercial. I used to have one myself.. Seriously, don't waste your money on it. Honestly, I only bought mine because it was part of the initial cost of the car when I bought it, and I was a big noob(still am!hehe). For the $800+ that they charge you, you could buy a full turboback catless system and get some real performance gains.

I don't think that any of the dealer installed "performance" options are worth the money (esp. the BBS Wheels). In every case, you could get better for cheaper aftermarket.

Since you said you liked the STi muffler, you should also consider the Prodrive WRSport. My personal favorite and the build quality is outstanding.

Hehe, WRSport is the model... Prodrive is the manufacturer. Many of the vendors carry them, even Tire Rack I think. I would suggest to just shop around.

That's a cool commerical My GF and I were talking during the commericals on a show we were watching, and I had the TV on mute. When that came on, I put the sound back up and told my GF to watch it!
