They will keep it. It's stilla great car for the money, and if people aren't looking for what the WRX has to offer. 4 or 5 thousand dollars is a lot of money to many people.

I think what Subaru is actually doing is offering their standard vehicles and then offering that same vehicle with all the options from the others, plus a few special options of it's own and a turbo.
IE:
You can buy an RS.
Or you can buy a WRX with all the options from an RS as standard features, plus some features of it's own (turbo, side air bags) and some WRX specific options (boost gauge, etc).

I went to subarus global site, and there was no 2.5 RS in the chart of specs for the impreza. The only 2.5L car they had was the STi. They do have something called a "GX" model that has a 2.0L engine but is not turbo charged.
heres the data sheet: http://www.subaru-global.com/lineup/...an/data_sheet/

I think the RS is only the RS in the US anyway. It's the GT or GX or something most other places. Either way, I have a hard time believing Subaru would drop all it's N/A motors in a country where they are very popular. We in the US can justify keeping the EJ25 around simply through sales volume. I think the truth is closer to that stated above, where each model will have a turbo motor as an option, and more variety of trim packages.

2.5rs
I have a 98 RS.....my dad bought a 2003 RS.....it just doesnt compare.....my car blows the doors off it in just about every category. I Dont know why they would do that to a car.......
they should have kept the same specs as the old platform....and just super tweaked them. 4 doors? *cough* =(
