Well of course... We are talking about price and not cash flows. Sales tax obviously varies from place to place and so does "plate fee's." The only baseline there is the might be consistent is the core cost of the car...
My $.02 ...

right now South Coast Subaru has the largest selection over 120 WRX's call 714-689-2103 fleet department has Jared and Tor, and they promise to beat any deal ! They need to sell off all the 03's to get the 04's
plus they sponsor my car, have the socalwrx club and all the parts and staff to really make your car what you want.
it's more than just the price it is how you are treated!!!!

My New Love
Hey guys I just picked mine up yesterday! Before taxes it was $22,717. This price included a rear spoiler, boost gauge, and a short throw shifter. Not too shabby considering the dealer was asking $28,700. The WRX is truly an amazing machine. I have never driven a car that is so fun to drive, and feels so incredibly solid and safe. Good luck to those who are in the market for buying one! You WILL love it!

Check edmunds.com for the invoice price and take $1000 off of that.
That is the price you should pay, $1000 UNDER INVOICE.
Currently, there is a $500 rebate of sorts and an additional $500 for the autoshow in the Chicago area for a total of $1000 below invoice.
I could have bought a 2003 WRX this saturday for that price if I wanted.
But, I'm still holding out for the 04 even if the new seats are a bit tight.
I'll fix them.
The dealer told me that deal was good till this weekend as the auto show rebate will end the end of this month.
Also, along with the rebates you can get 0% finance for 24 months up to 60 months at 3.9% which is pretty good.

Car Info: 2003 WRX Sedan
Well, I went to Grand Prix Subaru today and they offered me $500 over invoice for a WRX 5MT, spoiler, short shift, compass mirror, and armrest extention; 24090. What do you think? How do I get them to come down?

Answer for Kenny
Hey Kenny, what you want to do is get an internet price. I've had good luck with my past two car purchases this way. Try MSN.com. Click autos 2003, then select the Impreza. On the left side, you'll see "get a quote". Only do this if you're ready to buy. You'll have to fill out some info, then it'll give you a list of dealers in your area that participate in the internet program. If you live away from a major city, you won't have any luck. You'll have to take a road trip to get a good deal. Anyway, I bought mine for about $700 UNDER the dealers invoice. Subaru is giving the dealers some incentive for getting rid of the cars. Don't take any sh*t....don't even pay anything near the sticker. The econmy sucks, cars aren't selling, and they need the $$$$. Good luck.

I am not to worried about not getting a good price. I am pretty sure the internet sales at Heuberger motors (Colorado Springs) starts their pricing at invoice when they give a quote. One thing I am a little concerned about is the method of payment related to negotiating power... I would normally pay cash for cars... Just bought my wifes Grand Cherokee and paying with cash was so hassle free.
What all is involved if I would have to finance say $10k dollars worth... Now just need some funds to rebound a little...!

If you are going to put that much down, there shouldn't be any concerns.....right? I suspect the lowest they'd go on a cash basis would be $22000 with minimal options. I've flown into your town...nice airport...that is when ground icing in not in effect!
