What is rice?

Throughout the last couple of days i've read about people talking about rice in many different forms and i wondered to myself, what exactly is your definition of rice? Mine so much isnt any old honda civic. Its more like a car thats done up in a way that is just plain over done or completely tasteless. Im curious on your thoughts...---Todd--

Overwhelming tackiness is the key to true rice
Ill-fitment and uselessness also contribute.

Mindless, senseless, tasteless, blundering idiots who think that they are just WAY too cool and either have way too much money or way too little who do the most ridiculous things to either way too cheap cars or way too expensive cars. Or their mothers cars.

To alot of people "RICE" is any mod that they would not do to their own car. I have read on this board where a guy was labled rice because he had painted calipers, or underbody lights. Its all up to you and what you like, if someone else doesn't like it so what you are the one who paid for it and has to look at it everyday.

P.S. Personally I find the DVD and game systems cheesy if the driver can see it while driving or a monitor is mounted in the trunk.

To me, rice is no individualism, no style, no taste. Just following of a goofy trend of sheep-like styless tastelessness.

No, because this promotes more rice!!!! and rice people thinking that they need more and more and more and......aaaarrgghhh
and the next thing ya know, ya got all sorts of assclowns in rent-a-cars with NHRA wings screwed to the trunk with sheetmatal screws and no suspensions and neon and fartpipes and.......

Well...stupid people do stupid things to cars all the time and the sad part is that a lot of it can be dangerous, like getting blinded at night by the assclown with teh kewl HID's or the assclowns brothers wing coming off on the highway at 75mph right in front of you....

rice means different things ot everyone so there is no one answer. To me it is adding something to a car that does nothing except add weight and drag and use money that could be put toward something that could actually improve your car. Examples fancy paint jobs with designs (racing stripes and manufacturer decals excluded unless over done), underbody lights, Huge spoilers on front wheel drive cars. Feel free to add more to the list or disagree if you wish.

My favorite rice is when you see a completely stock car (usually it's a Neon or Sunfire) with a huge metal wing on it or a potato launcher as an exhaust.

Utlimate rice is when you see a late model Ford Thunderbird with a Type R sticker on it. haha

My guess is there are only two good things about "rice rockets".
1)They're so easy to make fun of and is good for a laugh everynow and then. 2)You know because of these fads it helps the economy. I mean ive walked into kragen to buy oil and seen guys buying performance parts in their "import" section. I hear they have great quality stuff there........

my definition of rice...

cars that are made up to look fast.

If you've got at least one sticker on there that you think is going to give you 5 hp... you're onestep over that rice line boyo.

giant functional spoiler on a stock car...

explosive diohrrea muffler...

little toys on the dash/hanging from the mirror/sitting on the deck behind the back seat

flamethrowing exhaust

neon underglow lights

any one, all or combination of the previous would give you demerit points towards that line of Rice.

as opposed to:

cars that are made up to GO FAST

and/or

cars that are made up to LOOK GOOD.

there is a fineline with look good though. If your car is bone stock and you've got this savage looking body kit that adds girth to your car, you're going to look pretty silly when that thing is still sitting on the line when some ugly *** souped up pinto whoops your ***.
