Hey guys, I talked directly to Subaru and they told me that WRX stands for.... World Rally X-whatever you want it to be! Nice huh?!

wrx = world rally <insert whatever you want here>


someone recently asked someone at subaru what the x stood for since there has been so much controversy on it and they basically said they made the x as a blank so that you could put whatever you wanted there

I have always heard that the X stands for All Weel Drive. Hint on the Eclipse the GSX is a GST but with All Wheel Drive. a few other cars that have all wheel drive also end with X. I'm not saying this is the truth but most people I talk with say it is.

There have been many different meanings for the "X". A few of them being, Experament, Cross (World Rally Cross), All wheel drive.

Yeah, and the BMW 325xi was the awd version of the 325i (as well as the 330xi and 330i).

Although, in this case, I like World Rally Experimental the best.

and yes X has four points, top two on the front wheels bottom two are the rear wheels, together its All Wheel drive =)

i remember reading somewhere.......another thread with the same topic. this guy talked to someone at subaru in japan and the x is supposed to be like an unknown variable or something of that sort. Like its potential is limitless.

i really can't remember if it was on this site or nasioc.
