Subaru and Saab are going to build the Saab 9.2. It is not clear yet if they are going to continue to build cars together. Both belong to GM, and both are quite small builders thats the reason why developing the new Saab together.

FHI doesn't 'belong' to GM. GM holds a 10% interest in FHI, so Subaru can do whatever the hell it wants since it's still an independent corporation. However, the partnership includes certain agreements for product development, so this will go forward.

Just FYI, everything I've heard about the 9-2 has it coming out next spring. It will be built by Subaru in a Japanese factory.

good news

While Saab gets an all-wheel-drive derivative from Subaru, the plan originally called for GM to get an AWD Outback-type sport-ute after it purchased a stake in the Japanese automaker.

"We couldn't work it out," Lutz said.

Finally some good news while it's a step down for subaru to sell to saab at least GM wont wreck the subaru image with a knock off outback.
