Part of the appeal of owning a Subaru is their 'quirky' reputation and appeal. About the only brands more so than Subaru are Saab and maybe Volvo, so naturally Subaru would lose money on that deal.

A joint venture between the two would be very advantageous for both companies. It could give Saab a more exciting vehicle (their current vehicles are very nice, but few people buy them).

Saab knows turbo's like no other company, so this would definately help Subaru. Working together is good. Giving a line to another company would be bad.

I stand corrected.

As well as surprised. Saab and FHI are definitely going through with plans to build this car. It looks as though it will be a fairly thorough re-skin of the GD and GG chassis (chassii? chassises?) with the same Subaru drivetrains. I'd bet on new interiors, or at least the dash and cluster, as well. Still, I don't see how 3 companies are going to profit from the ale of a single vehicle, even one with 2 faces.
