WEIRD highway race vs. neon r/t
so i was bringin my girl home and this r/t FLIES by me doing about 90 while i'm cruising just doing 60. i decide to catch up and coincidentally, he decides to slow down to wait for me. i creep up checkin out his car - dual exhaust, lowered, tint, radar, mad dirty lookin' like he just got outta autoX. so we slow down to about 40MPH; i drop it into 2nd and start to pull slowly, then 3rd and i'm pullin nicely, and by the end of 3rd to 4th, he is owned by about 5 cars. here comes the crazy shtuff... he then proceeds to get directly behind me on my bumper and throws on a strobe light setup that's right on his dash (that i didn't see before) that are red/white/blue. for a sec i'm like, oH SH** undercover cop! but then i was like, why would he race me?! he pulls next to me and then i roll down the window and he says pull over with a badge flashed out the window (coulda been fake)... so i proceed to pull over and then they speed off. i wanted to catch up and see what the deal was but i was like, hey if they were real cops, then i got off easy. wtf is going on in NJ/NY when normal people have police strobes and a badge to flash... maybe they're just sore losers with too much time on their hands. oh and they did the customary ricer fly-by too. this was all in my FULLY STOCK 03 wrx sdn with 1,005 miles.

dude, never ever pull over for a car like that. It's perfectly legal to tell any undercover cop to **** off, until he gets a regular cruiser. It became law when some lady got killed by a guy posing as a cop. I would especially never pull over for some jackass I just raced. You definitely got off lucky, those guys could've jacked you, or worse.

I could be wrong but impersonating a cop is a felony and you can do some serious time for it. Those guys are total idiots and will likely be arested sooner or later if any real cop see's that, even if it's not on. Plus they have a stupid car. :-P

Yea I figured they were fake because they got right behind and only turned on the strobes for like 2 seconds. They were probably afraid that a real cop might see them. I should have stopped in the diner they stopped at, just to rub it in their face that they got pwn3d.

Infamaos,
IF he was the police there would have been "back up" around very quickly and they would have made the stop.
IF he was really an officer you would have had police at your door when you got home.
IF you see the car again YOU call the police and tell them your location and description of the vehicle and plates.
YOU have the right to have a REAL Metro/undcvr officer follow YOU to a populated location,
AND the right to ask for a UNIFORMED officer to arrive. (Unless you have warrents out or are in the process of a felony<G>)
HE was NOT the man, Trust me, I know.
SHotgun

I have to agree with what eveyone has said here.
Usually, a real undercover car (we have them in texas, I saw one the other day, trolling for someone to pull over, prolly a road-rage cop) will have lights in the grille, and on the rear-deck. Sometimes even a spotlight in the a-pillar.
But, this was an obvious fake. I would have grabbed my cell, and called the local police dept. and reported the plate.
No -- I don't think they would have had a cop at your door. Yes -- I think they would have had a marked cruiser on standby somewhere to nab you.
